The Manana Trail is just under 7 miles out and back near Pearl City. This hike takes you deep into the Ko’olau Mountain Range. Weather can be an issue with this difficult climb, especially with heavy rain leading to thick mud. Fortunately for me, the weather was beautiful!
The trail can be very steep in certain areas, good thing there were ropes and ties set up to assist with the scramble up and down! After using the tree roots as hand holds, I was able to reach the ridge line and see the amazing Hawaiian landscape. With blue skies and a few clouds leading to views of the step ridges and valleys of Hawaii.
The best part of this long hike is the option to stop by the Waimano Waterfall on your way back down the trail! You can take a moment to catch your breath and enjoy the sound of the water. Overall, it was a great trail to take!
