Hello there! My name is Becky Holyoak and HolySmokes Photography is my way to share my experiences and my photos from my travels around the world. I love almost everything to do with the outdoors. I currently reside in Boise, Idaho. I spent three years living on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii which is where I really started to focus on photography and it has been awesome to see that develop and evolve over time. After Hawaii I spent two years living in Southern Germany. While in Europe, I was able to travel to multiple different countries and explore some of the most beautiful National Parks in the World! I was raised in Southeastern Idaho. My family is outdoors orientated my childhood summers consisted of camping, fishing, and canoeing. In 2011, I joined the Army and was then stationed in Hawaii where I really started to become interested in photography. I started building up my camera gear and since then I have been teaching myself about photography.
I don’t know where my ideas will lead me next, and that is just fine with me. Life is a journey and one that can be scary, intimidating, and expensive. However, it can also be breathtaking, exciting and an all-around adventure. So, here’s to my adventure through life, whatever and wherever that might take place!
