Hey Guys! So back in 2014 my family flew out to Oahu for an amazing Hawaiian vacation! The week was absolutely amazing! So, after the majority of my family flew back home, one brother and took a second vacation… We went Island hoping and visited Maui, Lanai, Kauai and the Big Island. The first island we visited was Maui, known for is stunning beaches and delicious food!
We figured the best way to start the trip off was some more snorkeling adventures. While the current wasn’t too strong, the surf had its moments of power! I was swimming right near some coral when a particularly strong wave caught me, spun me this way and that and eventually into the coral. It all happened pretty fast but the damage had been done!
After watching the birds exploring the boardwalk we headed off to the Iao Valley State Monument! The park is known for the 1,200 foot Iao needle because of its distinctive appearance.
We decided to try out a trail in the park and ended up with quite a scramble in some parts! But, it truly is such a beautiful place to wander around.
After snorkeling and hiking we spent the evening watching the sunset and listening to the waves crashing against the rocky shore! We needed to be up early to catch the ferry to Lanai the next day!
