Due to time and money constraints, our adventure to Kauai was narrowed down to only two 2 days which, was far too short! However, using a rental car we were capable to see a large portion of the island. Our first stop was the Hanapepe swinging bridge. While the locals utilize this bridge to cross the river, I was not able to build up enough courage to cross it. I did make it out onto the bridge and was doing alright until my brother decided to help the bridge swing a little more than it needed to. However, if your passing by I would recommend stopping and taking a stroll across this interesting bridge!
My most recommend attraction on Kauai is Waimea Canyon, or as it is nicknamed, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific! I was absolutely stunned to discover this canyon. When my brother and I decided to see this canyon, we had no idea just how massive it was going to be! There are over 45 miles of hiking trails all around and through the canyon and you can even take a helicopter tour and see the waterfalls inside the canyon close up.

Waimea Canyon is located near ‘Kokee State Park Which offers a museum and rental cabins for use. Keep in mind that when it rains the roads and trails will become incredibly muddy and even completely washed out!
Our second day started off with a beautiful morning of snorkeling off of Halena Beach. This area offers three different caves to explore. The Waikanaloa and Waikapale are wet caves and the Maniniholo cave is the only dry cave. While the Maniniholo cave is only 300 yards deep, it offers an array of colors and textures to enjoy!
After exploring the cave, we headed off to the Hanalei Valley. The valley is filled with fields of taro, which is used to make poi.
Our final stop was the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge where, we encountered the State bird, the Nene, first hand. We meandered our way to Kilauea Point and saw the Daniel K. Inovye Light house. Which, was the perfect sight to end our excursion to Kauai!
